Captain Amazo and The Atomic Man, a rivalry as fierce as any other. The Atomic Man was always out to put end to society as we know it. No matter what, Captain Amazo was there to stop him. Today was no different, a bomb lowered into the middle of the city with a list of demands. We all hide in fear, unable to escape. Captain Amazo arrives, and everything will be okay.
Only today, things weren't okay. Captain Amazo didn't seem himself. His punches didn't pack the same power and it didn't take long for The Atomic Man to get the upper hand with a blast of atomic energy. Now we're all watching as he walks and gloats about how he'll finally kill Captain Amazo, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Well, I can do something about it.
I just don't know if I should. No, I know I should, I just can't move my legs. It doesn't matter what happens now, my life won't be the same. Even if everyone else lives the same life afterwords, my life will never be the same.
I don't have time to think it over. I just run towards the fight pushing through the crowd. I know if I stop now, I won't make it in time so I keep running. All it takes is a simple touch. I wrap my arms around The Atomic Man as I fly towards him. He's much larger up close and he barely moves as my lanky teenage body slams into him. But it's enough. He tosses me to the side as if I were trash.
It worked, I can feel it, he doesn't know it yet. He turns to me when he can't launch a final blast of atomic energy at Captain Amazo. Yeah, I did it, come after me. I'll blast you to outer space. The distraction and power theft give Captain Amaazo enough time to mount a comeback, and swift victory.
His eyes meet mine as he celebrates his win. I don't wait around to speak. I fight through the crowd again, trying to get away. I don't want anything to do with this. I know he got a good look at my face, but there's almost a million people in the city. He can't find me, can he?
